Radio Trailer

We have noticed that many film production companys release a number of different trailers these are normally, teaser trailers, main trailers and launch trailers. But some companies also do radio trailers to accompany them and they are normally produced and aired closer to the release of the actual film.

Radio trailers are naturally fairly short, usually around 30 seconds. They have to inform the listener quickly but effectively about the film. They generally include sound bytes eg dialogue from the film and the style of music if not the actual music from the film. They also usually contain a voice over which informs the listeners about release date of the film, actors names, and one word reviews from the press.

Here is our 30 second radio trailer for our 5 minute film

Radio Script

As one of the main sections of our project is to create a radio trailer, we felt it was important to plan for this and create a script for how the trailer will sound. Radio trailers for films generally contain music in the background and a narrative voice providing information about the film, as well as sound clips from the film. Below is the script for how our radio trailer should sound.

(1) indicates pause between speech and length of pause.

*Music intro starts to fade in*
Voiceover: 'From the makers of 'What Goes Around...' (1) 'Five star tear jerker says Love Film'.
(2) *Music intro fades into accoustic guitar music from the film.*
(Sound clips from film) Luke Chapman: 'It's very rare that people get to do what they want to do, go where they want to go and see what they want to see'
(1) Luke Chapman: 'I bumped into this girl so I thought I'd give her a lift because she knows the roads a bit better'
(1) Luke Chapman: 'Oh i'm winning you'
Melissa Sykes: 'Aw no!'
(2) Luke Chapman: 'Come here give us a kiss'
Nicole Flowers: '(laughs) Turn it off'
(2)
Voiceover: 'Coming April this year' (2) 'Last Kiss Goodbye'
*Music slowly fades out*

Overall this radio trailer contains a good mix between sound clips from the films and the voiceover. From it you get an idea of what the film may be about, from the film clips, then the voiceover gives the key information regarding the film. I also think it is important to have the music going throughout the whole trailer in the background as it keeps the trailer from being boring and means there is always something to listen to which is crucial for a radio trailer.

My Film Poster

This is the poster I have designed for our short film, I have no experience using Photoshop editing software and haven't designed anything like this before, therefore I have done the best I can and created a poster that fits some of the features of our film.

My Film Poster

This is the film poster I have produced for our film. Even though I have little experiance using photoshop I managed to make this.

My film poster

This is the poster that I made for our film. The poster was created with the poster analysis that I did last month, in mind.

Photos for poster

We decided to take some new photographs for our film poster, as opposed to taking stills from the lower-quality movie.

I took the pictures, whilst Kirsten, Danny and Aimee (Plays Nicole), stood and 'posed'. Each of us had ideas of what we wanted our poster to look like, and what shots we should get.

It's now a case of each of us using our research into other film posters, and these photographs to create our own poster!

Bloopers and Funny Moments

There are many things which did not go to plan, and was caught on some of the 3 and a half hours footage that we had captured. As we had to watch the footage as we imported it, we decided to keep track of the certain individual clips. We were aware that quite a lot of films often show bloopers at the end of their films, and we thought it would be a good memory to keep for the future, showing what fun we had making our production.
